Description
| In the first week of life, the neonatal mouse heart regenerates fully after injury – an ability not shared by humans. Confocal microscopy seven days post-myocardial infarction reveals dense macrophage networks and revascularisation (isolectin-B4, green) in the infarct zone against autofluorescent myocardium (orange), demonstrating innate regeneration as the heart repairs itself. |
